Your Fat Injection Treatment

Fine lines and wrinkles, thin lips, and a drooping corner of the mouth are all areas that can be aided with fat injections or injectable fillers such as collagen. The market is ever changing, with new products appearing rapidly. Dr. McNemar's individualized patient care provides safe and effective treatment. Fat injections and injectable fillers can soften facial wrinkles and furrows, enhance the lip line, and slightly raise concave scars.

During the treatment, an appropriately recommended pharmaceutical filler substance or one's own fat is injected below the skin surface to fill hollow areas and creases, or plump the lips and back of the hands. Fat typically is taken from the inner thigh or abdomen. Prior allergy testing may be required for some pharmaceutical fillers. These treatments are performed in Dr. McNemar's office, using local anesthesia where indicated.

Many patients who choose injectables also consider other non-invasive treatments like BOTOX® Cosmetic or skin resurfacing. Swelling following fat injection treatment usually dissipates in 1 to 2 weeks.
